Time for an update...

We've been home a week now and are doing great. My mom has been with us this past week and she flew home today between snow storms. She was so much help and I'm sad to see her go, but it's always good to get home espically when the weather is bad.

I feel really good. The second time around was much easier and I'm so much more relaxed with this baby. McKenzie's a really good sleeper and is nice and quiet when she's awake. She gets up to eat at night and sometimes plays a little, but for the most part, Roland and I are getting a good amount of sleep and enjoying our time at home. Jonah is still adjusting to having a little sister. He has kisses and hugs for her, but I can tell that he's starting to wonder when we're going to take the baby back so things can get back to the way they were. He's had a really hard time going to bed without screaming fits since we got home. It's been quite challenging. It's also been hard because I can't pick him up and it's disrupted the closeness we had before McKenzie. I know that in time things will fall back into place and it will be normal to have McKenzie around and none of us will think of life before her.

Roland has one more week off and he's been able to accomplish so much since he's been off. The day we got home we had to have a plumber come out and unclog our washing machine drainage pipe. That was fun. It had backed up and was draining all over our floor.

We got our Christmas tree a few days ago and decided to bring all of our presents out Christmas morning so Jonah didn't unwarp everything before it was time. He loves it when the delivery person brings a package to the door. He's learned that fun stuff comes in those boxes and he wants to open them all. We have to sneak things into the house so he doesn't demand we open something that came for him! Christmas morning is going to be so much fun with him this year. Having kids really brings back the magic of Christmas.

Oh, I think Roland forgot to mention what happend with McKenzie's weight. The scale the hospital used to weigh her was off so she weighed in at 8lbs 13oz, but the next day she was 8lbs. There was no way she'd dropped that much weight, so we're going with somewhere around 8lbs 5oz. Either way, she's smaller and shorter than Jonah ever was and is still fitting into newborn clothes. She's got a cute round little tummy so her newborn diapers are fitting a little snug, but she's still very much a newborn. It's so nice to have a sleeper in the house!
