Little Waterbug

Jonah has had a great time playing in the water this summer. It's been pretty hot and water and hot weather go well together. Our friend Matt invited us to swim at his Aunt and Uncles during our week of over 100 degree temps and Jonah had a blast. They let Jonah use a swim vest and he loved being able to float without anyone's help. Roland did a cannon ball off the diving board and Jonah was determined to do the same. Roland taught him how to go under the water and hold his breath and he quickly learned and was jumping off the diving board! He's asked me every day since then if he can "go swimmin' with Matt?". It's so cute.

Last weekend we went to a birthday party and got to swim some more and this time we bought Jonah his very own swimming vest. He wore it all over the store before we bought it. He thought it was great! He did great again and although he was freezing we couldn't get him out of the water!

Central Point just opened up their water park and it's really cool. It was so hot yesterday that we took Jonah. He wasn't as thrilled with that as he was with the pool. He doesn't like being sprayed with the cold water. He'd rather get used to it and swim around. Most times he's a little water bug. Maybe he'll like the water park when he's older.

We went to a picnic at the lake and he wanted me to take him into the 'big water'. I don't like swimming in lakes so we just waded, but had I not had his hand he would have gone swimming in the muckey water too! What a little water bug. I'm so glad he enjoys himself so much. Swimming is the perfect way to cool off in this heat. I'm sure we'll be getting a pool when the kids are old enough.
