She's been working so hard at crawling. She can get a few scoots across the floor in and goes backward a lot. She should be a pro in a couple of weeks. I think she'll be so much happier when she can go where her brother goes. I've been leaving the two of them in the play room together so he can get used to having her around. Soon she's going to be into everything he is. I just hope he learns to play with her and not throw so many hard little toys at her. He's looking for a reaction from her and me and he gets it. Oh the joys of having two!
Jonah has said a lot of funny things lately. The other day he told me he wanted to ride his bike on the road so he scooted himself out into the driveway and said, "bye, bye mommy". He also came out of the house one morning telling me, "big banana, big banana". I thought he wanted a banana and told him I'd go get him one when I went to the store. When I stepped inside I saw a big, slimy slug sitting in the doorway! He looked at it and said, "banana, bug"! When we were in Washington we saw a banana slug and he was remembering that! I was amazed he remembered and also grossed out that there was a nasty slug sitting there. Jonah picks his nose and when he sits with me I pull his finger out of his nose and tell him to stop. I guess he really wants to pick because when I pulled out his finger one evening he said, "get down. Get down and do it". I didn't understand so I let him down and he stood there picking away! What a funny little boy.
Life's been pretty normal and quiet with the heat. We've been playing inside a lot, but we actually made it to the park this morning and plan to go tomorrow since it's cooling off a bit. This summer's been great, but I'm already starting to think about Halloween costumes, Thanksgiving dinner and planning two birthdays just before and just after Christmas! We're spending a week in Sunriver this September and are really looking forward to that as well.
