Summer is in full swing. It's been in the upper 90's the past few days and that's too hot for me! I still like that better than cold weather. Our grass that we put in this spring is growing great. It needs to be mowed every few days. I love having the side yard to play in and the front yard is nice too, but Jonah wants to play on the dirt pile in the driveway! I wonder where he'd go if I fenced that in too.
Mickey grew a couple of teeth. One on Father's Day and the other has just started to come in. It makes her grumpy. We had a major breakthrough with her stranger anxiety. She will actully let Megan hold her for extended periods of time. Megan babysat last night so Roland and I could get out and see a movie and she woke up and Megan was able to put her back to sleep pretty easily. She's the first not blood related person to gain Mickey's trust! Yippie for Megan. She has a gift.
Jonah is doing well. He continues to say crazy little two year old things. I love him so much. He's been going to bed so well. He has two books we read over and over. The digger book and Goodnight Moon. We have to read them every time he goes to sleep. At first he used reading the digger book as a way to prolong bedtime, now it's a must for sleep. I introduced Goodnight Moon because he's been facinated with the moon latley. He's a funny kiddo.
I've been working out at our local Curves and enjoying it very much. It's hard to get out in this heat, but worth the results. I can fit into some pants and capris that I wasn't able to when I started working out, but I've not lost any weight. It's all muscle right? Whatever. I still enjoy the workout.
We don't have big plans for the the 4th, but I think it's my top 3 favorite holiday. I got Jonah a flag tee from Old Navy and Mickey got an adorable little dress. We're going to walk the block down to the main road and watch the parade (if Jonah will sit still that long) and then go to the fair in the park behind our house. Oh, I can't wait for the food! After naps we'll go over to our friend's clubhouse and go swimming and probably have more food! Jonah is very excited about the fireworks, so we'll have to make sure he sees a bunch. I'll make sure and update with pictures after I have them :)
